Bak Kut Teh, do you love?

I need some part time jobs. 
I don't mind selling Colgate and Osim products again although I need to stand from 10-10 like before. 
Or, I don't mind baby-sitting Isabel to gain monthly allowance? hehhh.
I really need money laa. Lollll. 

Ok, my laptop kong since 3pm until now. Really really. Virus takes over my lap. I feel so sad.  
I'm mobile-blogging right now. 
Cool app. I like it so much. I was actually stitching and watching 36 hours on-call but I got bored. 
Alyssa just reminded me that results will be released tomorrow at 8pm and wow.. 
I hope to have good news before my trip on Wed. 


Got Bak Kut Teh packaging the other day and decided to make BKT for my sis. 


My Ahma always tell me that no matter what kinda pre-pack you are using, do not forget to add few Dang Gui inside the BKT soup and boil for at least 4 hours. (for me, 30mins boil in high and then slow)


I chose pork ribs and low in fat pork meat. Before putting all those pork meats into the pot for 4 hours of boiling, (pity porkie), I scalded those meats first to get rid of the pork smell. (even more pitiful eh) Scald for 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water. 


Then put all those into the boiling pot with the pre-pack. Must remember, only put the pre-pack BKT, scalded pork meats, Dang Gui, mushroom and garlic. Then boil in high temp for 30 mins and then at least 2-3 hrs in slow. 


I also prepared some chilli padi with sweet thick soya sauce and soy sauce to go with the meat. 



Sorry, I don't really know the right way in making BKT but the purpose of this post is just to kill my craving in the middle of the night. Oh the above is Golden Mushroom. To put it on the BKT before you serve. 


I like fried tofu pok very very much bcs I like the feeling of the water stored inside the poks. Lollll. and when I bite it, slurp! Esp in BKT! 


I put the fried tofu skin, fried tofu poks, golden mushroom and vege when I was about to serve. 


Because my bro-in-law likes to eat this kinda type of vege. With oyster sauce. 


Must-have during BKT session. 


We had a very happy and fulfilling dinner for 4 tonight. Why blog? So that when I'm 40, I could read back all those little details that I treasure. Be it good or bad, still my life. Maybe you can try. Ok, back to my stitching. A duck. Lollll.

How random - The Haven breakfast

I was in the midst of uploading all the pictures and my comp's action center suddenly popped up and asking me to update my comp and scan and download and..... :s
Please do not tell me that my comp has virus NOW.
I really hate that.
I tried to upgrade my pathetic laptop to W7 all by myself and now, what........ eek.
I do not want all my efforts go wasted lah wei :/


We randomly checked out this organic cafe last last month. 
I thought I could burn off some calories.
I mean, I really like the food over here buthen, a bit less organic with the amt of oil and butter.


Haven is not only an organic cafe. It is also a green space with wholesome food, healthy juices, organic products from adults to babies, good hair care and of course, awesome awesome coffee. That's the main reason why we ended up here.



Got both moms organic honey from Sarawak. I tried and it tasted like bitter-honey kinda type? Was that supposed to mean that organic honey tastes that way? Bitter? lol. 


Spot the French Toast? Damn good!

Purple is definitely my least favourite colour but I like the purple tone here. Fully contrasted. It made me drink more that 5 cups because of the beautiful purple here! Heeee.


He got his hot chocolate and he "pathed" this picture straightaway.


 My hot Latte. He was amazed with the coffee art and so did I. All their coffees are by RAW. The beans were roasted in-house too, to ensure the best of quality.



Heh, close-ups. 


Have it Your Way (choose 3 items). He chose fried bacon, poached free range eggs and turkey ham to go with our bread. Our selection was nothing to shout about and and the portion was a tad too small. Smaller portion = Healthier lifestyle? or, organic lifestyle? Hahaa


French Toast!! I loved loved loved loved this. Very fattening but so so so good. Enough of so(s) to picture how nice this was? Heh. Classic french toast made with free range eggs, served with organic jam and raw rainforest honey. Warm, fluffy thick thick bread and absolutely satisfying!


Fluffy Pancakes. Stack of traditional pancakes served with butter, organic jam and raw rainforest honey. We finished this. 4 whole big pieces of pancake. Yummss!


Potato wedges. I was really craving for this and so, I finished this all by myself :/ oh wells, mainly.. Craving rocks! :D


Chicken & Mushroom Pot Pie. Kampung chicken, mushrooms, mixd root vegetables, cream sauce, puff pastry. Creamy, very very creamy and satisfying. 


Look, cleanse our bodies with organic food? Nono, I don't think so. 

Overall, Haven Cafe serves good coffee and decent food. I suppose organic food is generally more expensive than intensively-farmed food so it is a bit pricey here. On a side note, do get one of their organic honey from Sarawak. It is really good despite the bitterly taste. However, the quiet and calm atmosphere makes it a very nice place to chill out and have a light snack too.

My 3-weeks break is ending soon. One more week to go.. Past 2 weeks, awesome! Spent most of my hard-earned money and savings for 3 trips. No regrets. Life is too short and thus, I will never stop myself experiencing new things everyday. Ok, baiiiiiii people! I will update more often! No more lazy-bum issues eh. Heee, for now, stitching time! Attempting to make another pillow for the boy and Isabel.
